A Fab Lab is a small-scale workshop offering digital fabrication, with the aim to make "almost anything". Created at MIT, it’s aligned with the maker culture, and the free and open-source movement. ‘FabLab - Do It Yourself’ TV series shows 5 inventions that helped some Brazilians and their communities: a 3D printed robotic hand for a children with a congenital limb difference / an electric cargo bicycle for the uphills of São Paulo’s biggest favela / a fully equipped science lab for a municipal school / an electronic card for a social community bank / a CNC machine to build furnitures for an NGO. // All these projects are open source, free, and ready to be downloaded on the ‘Fantástico’ TV show website.
